Why we do portraits
I know you have heard the expression
“it’s not about the …………………………… (fill in the blank)” and it’s truly not about the “Camera” and it never has been. My daughter asked me the question about how a camera works and when it was invented. This brought about the thoughts that there are hundreds and thousands of details all coming together in an instant that make 1 image.
The lens must be focused , the mirror on our cameras must flip up and the rear curtain must open to expose the “imager” or film. Not to mention that you must have the color balance and ISO sensitivity set for optimal rendition as well as the f-stop and shutter speed must be in sync to allow for the correct exposure which insures the most vibrant colors and density of the image being created. The instant that the image is captured is also about the expression and posture of the subject in addition to the composition and use of color harmony of the background and accessories. In that exact same instant, as we are “Professional Portrait Photographers” , we believe that being our best is in being able to have the client relaxed, comfortable and confident to the point that they elicit (not fake) the most flattering expressions which when displayed or gifted to their family and friends proudly represents the individual in the image. Our clients or subjects must “feel” before they can display the expression. This means that all of our ”tech” or “Art” must be transparent during the session as to not distract the subject.
Thru 25 years of these “Magic Moments” with our clients we feel the satisfaction that comes when you preserve (create) some of the most precious moments of our lives. It’s been said that a picture is worth a thousand words so I’ll stop here for you to enjoy some of the “Magic Moments” that we have captured………………
Feel free to browse our website and know that these images are all created with feeling.
